For animal lovers, the BARk and Miller's Plant Farm hosts a Christmas with Santa event on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 pm., where you can bring children, pets, or both. Kids and animals can get their pictures taken with Santa Claus for free when you bring pet food or supplies donations. In addition to free Santa photos, you can also earn two free raffle tickets with your donation. The pictures are $10 without a contribution. At the event, you can also enjoy food and various vendor trucks.

Christmas Art Class

If you're looking to roll up your sleeves and make festive art to display in your home with your kids, attend the Christmas Art Class at the Creative York Main Classroom. The class is for children between 6 and 10 years old and costs $30 per child. Registration is open until the day of the event, Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. In the class, your kids can enjoy listening to holiday music and creating fun crafts inspired by the season led by an instructor.

There's no need to worry about sending your child with supplies because it's all included in the fee.

Merry in the Market

Merry in the Market is a free event at the Central Market House on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. As the date gets closer, be sure to check the event's website to learn more about what you can expect, as this year will be different from previous years. While the creators say the event will vary from what they normally do, you can expect to find delicious festive treats throughout the event at the farmer's market.

Light Up York

Gather your friends and family members on Friday, Dec. 2, at 5 p.m. to watch Light Up York at Continental Square. Kick off the holiday season by viewing the City of York's Public Works Department unveiling and lighting the city's tree. The event is free for all those who want to come and watch the beautiful tree's sparkling lights. While the event continues to finalize the details for this year, there are some activities you may expect based on previous years, such as children's scavenge hunts, holiday workshops, and photo opportunities to capture the evening.

Fil-Am United Association Christmas Gala

At Heritage Hills Golf Resort, the Fil-Am United Association Christmas Gala will be on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. through Sunday, Dec. 4, at 12 a.m. Celebrate the holiday season at the Gala by raising funds to afford school supplies for school children in the Philippines. Ticket prices are $55 for adults and $25 for children ten and under. While there's no specific dress code, it's a formal event, so dress accordingly. The buffet opens at 7 p.m., and it's first come, first served.

Holidays at Hueter's

It's not the Christmas season until you attend Holidays at Hueter's. Drive over to Hueter's Greenhouses on Saturday, Dec. 3, between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Make sure to bring your smartphone or another camera device because you can take a picture with Santa between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Inside the greenhouse, you can marvel at the beautiful, soft Christmas lights decorating the area with comforting pine scents as you browse various gifts and decorations. You'll feel calm and cozy as you make your way through the winter wonderland experience.

Before you leave, don't forget to explore the Christmas tree forest and bring home the best tree to decorate, and pick out a wreath for your door.
